Two years in the workshop, and countless revisions later, the Croc Skin Collection debuted at Dallas Safari Club. Designers Patrick Mavros Jr., and Benjamin Mavros, sons of silversmith Patrick Mavros Sr., found inspiration for the jewellery on the banks of the Zambezi river near their home in Zimbabwe. But it was left to sons Forbes and Alexander to come to Dallas and introduce it to fans of the Mavros brand.
Friends new and old gathered at the jewellery counter displays over the course of the week, trying on the cuff bangle and earrings, the signature pieces in the collection. Long-time family friend Virginia also served customers in the booth, along with the brothers.
Patrick Sr. held court in the aisles of the massive Dallas Convention Center, telling stories, shaking hands, and eyeing merchandise from other vendors. Before the show ended, Patrick Sr. sat down long enough for master bootmaker Lisa Sorrell to measure his feet for a new pair of custom Western boots.
